Pleased to share that I’ll be speaking at the next ADIT webinar on Monday 2 March (14:00 GMT | 15:00 CET) — and it’s also a nice personal milestone because this is my 4th year lecturing on ADIT-related topics for the UK Chartered Institute of Taxation.
This session is all about a theme that comes up constantly in real-life advisory work: where a company is actually “resident” for tax purposes — and why the answer often depends on what happens in substance, not just what’s written in the documents or what the board minutes say.
We’ll be looking at corporate residence beyond formal board mechanics, with a practical focus on:
Central management and control (who is really making the strategic decisions?)
Place of effective management (where the “real” management is exercised)
De facto / shadow control (when influence or control exists even without an official title)
If you’re a founder, director, CFO, or involved with cross-border groups, this is one of those areas where getting the governance and decision-making right can make a big difference — not just technically, but also in terms of risk management and avoiding unpleasant surprises.
The webinar is free to join, so feel free to register here:
